The 2007 Bower Hinton Bike Ride took place on August 26, 2007 in aid of the Orchid Cancer Appeal, with 33 riders taking part. Through the sponsored bike ride and the other events of the day, we aimed to raise around £1, 300. Our final total far exceeded this. Full details can be found here.
Cyclists of all ages and with varying experience took part, some having travelled a fair distance to attend the ride. Ollie Delafeld (aged 9) signalled the start of the ride by sounding an air horn, and the riders were off! Some cyclists undertook the 15 mile route twice, with one person managing it 3 times! The day was so successful that it has now been decided to make the Bower Hinton Bike Ride an annual event with an optional 30 mile route. We aim to have at least 100 cyclists taking part - so please join us for Ride 2008!
